Tom I here the Green Eggs are incredible grill/smokers. My electric smoker finally died this summer and I've rebuilt my weber LP grill to the point where I'm looking for something else.

How long have you have the Egg and what do you think about it?

Tony,

I've only had the egg since July, and I love the thing! IMO it's the best grill/smoker I've ever used. I can get that sucker up to 800+ degrees to sear steaks, and have it maintain a steady 200-220 degrees over night for smoking. Plus it uses very little charcoal. I've read that people have smoked up to 24hrs on one fill of lump charcoal

I bought the plate setter for indirect smoking/grilling and to make pizzas. I haven't made any pizzas yet, but plan to soon. I'm looking to also try cedar plank Samon very soon

Another thing I really like about it is that everything comes out so much juicer than my old gas grill and gas smoker. I guess it has to do with how thick the eggs wall is. I have the large and it weight is 140 lbs.

Thanks Tom I may have to kick the Weber to the curb and go with the Green Egg:nutkick:

Sounds like a good idea Tony. At 140 lbs, it will weigh almost as much as the oyster roaster!

Take a look at the PortaKitchen BBQ Grill.. Its made from cast Aluminum and will never rust out.. Price is a lot cheaper at about $300 shipped to you..

PS.. My dad bought one in 1965 and is still used every week... mine is 15 years old and still looks new...

Roscoe..

Oh. and doing a new pig recipe this weekend... lol..
