My wife Mary, myself and the dog ( Mochi ) headed up to Ontario Canada for what was supposed to be a week of fishing and relaxation. I went into work early, put in a few hours and was on the road by 10:30 am.
335 miles into the the 340 mile trip, a spring mount broke on the boat trailer. No big deal, I grabbed the come-a-long out of the suburban, pulled the axle forward into position and 10 minutes later we were back on our way ( at 35 mph for the last 5 miles :D )
Here's how I rigged it :hurray:

Slight damage from the wheel going back too far

It was an exhausting trip

Unloaded that night and saturday morning set up the boat and launched it. Welded the bracket ( a big thanks to Lyle who let me use his arc welder and refused any type of payment :seasix: )
Sunday went out for a bit but there was a bass tournament and there was way too bASS fisherman thinking they owned the entire lake. :slap:
I went to the LCBO and picked up some good beer :toast:

Monday evening Mary mentioned that her ear felt "closed". Tuesday morning her balance was way off. Anything resembling vertical spent her spinning ( dizzy )
I threw on some clothes and had the camp owner help me get her to the suburban where she layed in the back. I ended up driving her back to the US ( the Custom officers were extremely nice and quick, thanks ) to an Urgent Care office in Watertown NY. After an exam they recommended a CAT scan at Samaritan Hospital. After those results came in, a call from the doctor at urgent care told me the results and a couple of prescriptions were to be picked up at the local drug store.
After Mary was starting to "mend", I finally got something to eat at 1:30. That was the best tasting subway hoagie I ever had. Then back to camp ( Canadian customs was quick too :seasix: )
Yesterday she feeling better and felt she could make the 6 hour ride home. I packed up the boat and suburban and we came home today.
Oh, I got to tow my boat thru snow flurries just south of Syracuse NY today too :banghead:
She's feeling better tonight so hopefully it continues
Good thing I have a few days to relax after my "vacation"
