So if you walk in to a Greek restaurant and there is Greek music, or a Chinese restaurant and there is Chinese music what's the difference.
I understand the whole English thing but what's the big deal if there was Mexican music playing.
I think there is more serious shit to be offended about.
JMHO

Sounds appropriate. Aren't many of the products they carry now made in Mexico???

The complaint might have carried more gravitas if the sender was able to write in the English language a little better.

Hecho en Mexico!
If the background music in stores reflected where the products actually came from, every radio station in the country would be playing indigenous Chinese music.

The auto parts store with the blaring Mexican music probably was adapting it's business to attract Mexican customers. Or maybe they just hired Mexicans or Americans of Mexican origin to work there, and those folks had the radio on a station they personally liked, in which case there was no business strategy here.

I'm in favor of making English the official language of the US. Now, having said that:
Unless you are proposing altering or abolishing the 1st amendment, then I don't see how that would effect what a private radio station plays on air.
If I own a radio station and want to play polka music 24/7, that is my right as a radio station owner. I'd say almost half of the radio stations here in Houston and at least that percentage of the TV stations are broadcast in Spanish or Spanglish. It's all perfectly legal and those stations seem to be making enough money to stay in business.

So if a majority of their customers are spanish speaking, how is that not catering to their customers?
