sorry...I effed up

Once a few decades ago, I was a project manager for a medium sized development & building company...

I got the job and was rewarded a brand new pickup truck within weeks of my employment...a Dodge Dakota, a real nice one w/ extra cab and a nice trim line.

one day while reaching for a spilled coffee cup, I side-swiped a mailbox...and did a pretty good number on the truck from the front fender to the rear tail light. A major "pin stripe" if you will...

Here I was, new in town...new job...and I had just effed-up a brand new truck. I was a little shaky when I walked into the owners office to deliver the "pin stripe" news.

His reply was short & sweet: "Larry, If you weren't running so hard and covering my business, you would have never had this accident"...now go back out there and give 'em hell..."

We had the truck repaired and the following year he bought me a new loaded GMC Z71 pickup. I think I made that company a lot of money. And, I still turn to him today for advice from time to time. (He also was the one who encouraged me to get licensed in FL and start my own biz)

Larry, not without faults.

Don't know what you said but..

If it makes you feel any better I woke up the other day with a hang over, and had to go back to my history, to see if, and what, damage I had done. :datawiz:

:leaving:

the Colorado wasn't made back then. And the Dakota was a much better vehicle truck then the S10. a little larger too. :yesnod:

I actually liked that Dakota truck. I guess the fact that I didn't pay for it or the fuel/maintenance/insurance, made it easy to love.

For the curious, I simply effed up the Utah-quality pic of my grand puppy the other night. He's 50% Sharpei and 50% Pit Bull (I think), and a truly fun 75 lb. beast. He's a bit protective of my son and DIL and has figured out that I'm family so I'm ok. He'll sleep with his head on my lap.

I took him out last week to play catch and wore his young ass right out. A post-game milk bone with some peanut butter and he was down for the evening.

Here's the pic I tried to post:

He's fantastic! But he is a doggie, so that goes without saying!
