Wonder how many attempts the jump at the pool took to get it to land on its wheels.

That was the equivalent of a car circling the globe 3 times. What I don't understand is what was the tent there for?

:iagree:me thinks those kids are going to have a lifetime of great memories growing up.

i do wonder if it was a continuous track though, or just shot and moved and shot and moved etc.

I am curious about that too...even if it was continuous I'm not certain the car could actually pull that all off in one lap without falling off. Especially with the jump in there.

As an old Hot Wheels fan, I now have wood.

I didn't know they made those little car launchers.

That had to cost a fortune, no wonder they need donations :leaving:

So if everyone that comes to BRII brings one of those tracks and a car....we can build one that will consume the entire hotel :hurray:

 vid.

Odds are multiple shots w/moving & using the same track.

Neat editing though. :yesnod:

:withstupid: well done video :cool1:

This. You'd also need about 30 cameras. But cool idea.

That was a lot of work no matter how they did it. Even if it was by computer :cert:

Those were the days !. My brother and I as well as our friends, played with those tracks for hours, and days, when we were 6-9 years old, from 1969 to '72.......Good times !....:hurray:

Not only 30 cameras, but I stopped counting Track Chargers at 100... the cheapest set you can get a charger in is $15. Even if the guy collected all the track bits on eBay there is still a chunk of change in the track, a couple/few thousand bucks, I'd bet.

So yeah, this is a composite video, and a very well edited piece. I did notice the car edging the track several times and I can imagine in some of the tighter inversions it must've taken several takes.

I moved away from the Hot Wheels orange track sets and have gotten back into HO scale, AFX slot cars. Still have my Hot Wheels though...

I thought the lap time was a few tenths slow...:D

It would be cooler to make a really long gravity track if you were somewhere with multiple stories, like a hotel:waiting:

Build a two story corkscrew spiral and run time trials. Get the Hot Wheels radar gun, and set up the finish line speedtrap too...

No. 1 camera and 30 laps would do it too.

As an adult and newly discovering ebay, I have purchased duplicates of my tracks and a lot of cars I had as a kid. This video makes me want to go set it all up. I still have my original starter gate from about 1968. My first two cars were a green Fleetside and a blue Cougar.
