Why do I bother with Craiglist?....

Okay, ever since I grabbed a 15K mile set of Ti's for the C5 on CL for $75, I am addicted to searching for ultra cheapo parts daily. All well and fine. I figured I would try and sell a couple things.

We changed out the stove a couple of weeks ago, changing to black after the kitchen remodel. Put a nice almond glass top stove up for $100 obo on Thursday night saying it was going to the used appliance guy or donated to charity if not gone by noon Friday. Got a call an hour or so later, guy tells me he will give me the full $100 if I will hold it until Friday at 6 when he gets off work. I say fine, then pull the ad down. He shows Friday and looks it over and says will you take $80 since you ad said OBO? Told him the deal was $100 if I held it. I did and it is. He asks me if I got other offers, I said the ad came down since you commited to buy it for $100. He handed me 5 $20's. I almos let him deal with trying to get it in the back of his truck on his own, but...

Our family has 4 cemetery plots in Miami that we will not use. I figure what the heck, stuck an ad on CL. the cemetery is selling the in the newer, less desirable section for around $5K each. I asked $11K OBO for all 4. "Fillipe" sends me an email asking me if I will take $2500 for all 4? I resisted the urge to tell him what I thought of his offer, but figured he may just be starting really, really low. However, no further response?

Are they all really that clueless?

I listed my boat for sale, so far most of the people have been normal and reasonable. When I sold my Mustang, it was like I activated an idiot magnet.

When I sold my car I had an ad on CL going along with a thread at CF. Despite me stating the car had never been wrecked, no body work, etc, I received an email at least daily asking if the car had ever been wrecked. I also stated no trades and had someone ask me if I would be interested in trading for a "replica Lambo".

If it only needs something minor, why not fix it? That drives me crazy. It also goes hand in hand with ridiculous self diagnosis. "The car stopped running after the oil light came on, probably just needs a fuse which is like $1 at Autozone". "Brakes don't work, probably just low on fluid". "Car doesn't move forward when you put it into D, probably just needs the bulb under the D since its out".
The only thing worse are ads obviously sent from phones with no thought given to grammar or punctuation.

I told one scammer to get a life or go try to screw somebody else, SOB already had my email so for 6 months I was getting more spam than I could believe. Right now I am trying to get an answer out of some asshole who has a transmission for sale. I'm ready to buy and he is not responding. Probably already sold the trans and is too much a jerk to just let me know.

Here is a response that I just got. In my email, I tore them out of the frame. Supposedly this guy is an oceanographer. Guess he didn't pass 2nd grade english, but had talent elsewhere. F'n douchebag.

Thanks for the mail and for been honest with me, at this point i am ready to pay for it and i want you to get back to me with your paypal email id so that i can get the payment made quickly, i will email you immediately i am done with the payment . A pick up agent will be coming for it picking up after the payment is been made.. I hope to have the paypal email id as soon as possible..
