While we're on the topic of phones- I'm told it's my turn to upgrade. Replacing a 4 yr old LG that gets used 90% for business. Email, text friendly, something not so complex a stoopid guy that's never had a smartphone can figure out. (AT&T's the carrier, already have a data plan but never used it, if that sez something).

I have an iPhone 3GS right now-upgrading to a 4S. Never had an Android, but all the reviews said poor battery life. One of the main reasons I went iPhone.

You will have sheeple for the iphone and sheeple for the driod phones...
Best you can do is do your research then drink the kool-aid flavor you like the most :D

I'm on the fence myself, leaving towards the Android. I have a Macbook Pro, so I've already partaken of that drink...but I like the techiness of the Android over the iPhone.
And with the Androids outselling the iOS...I think app availability is a moot point.

I've heard the same, especially if it's 4G.
Also heard that some apps for Android have malware/viruses.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I get great battery life, but I have to turn off 'mobile data' when I'm not using it.

:iagree:
Those who complain about the battery life typically are the ones who don't read the manuals or FAQS which suggest to turn down their screen brightness, turn off bluetooth, wifi, and constant push with their e-mail.
I can get a week out of my droid incredible 2 with average use

Try them both. Pick the one you like.
A lot of personal preference involved.
For me it's personal history. I've had an iPhone since near day one. My wife has an iPhone. We both have iPads.
Moving to Android right now would be too much of a hassle...and we like iOS.
But if I were starting from scratch today I'd have a much more difficult choice.

To add to the confusion, one kid has an iPhone, the other and Android, both love them. Wife has an iPhone, loves it too- but she's used to Apple products (uses a Macbook Pro).

I am still using my old Motorola Droid 2 which has terrible reviews as far as battery life goes. With "normal" use, I can easily make it a couple of days without a charger.
I'm not a kool-aid drinker of either. I got my first Droid for free and stuck with them because they work well for what I need. 4G would be nice in the future though...

Can't go wrong with either....
However, a lot of apps are free for the android compared to the Iphone...
yes there is malware/spyware for the droid... however there is anti-virus programs out there that scan the application prior to install.
my DroidX has an awesome camera compared to the IPhone.. my screen is also a heck of a lot bigger...
My friend has had both an iphone and a droid... he prefers the droid over the iphone and all of his computers in his house are apple products. The only microsoft product he has is his xbox.
My experience over the last year of Android ownership (Epic 4G on Sprint).
It started off great and has gradually devolved into a POS. Crappy apps in the Android Market, the battery life is abysmal, runs hot for no reason, reboots randomly, etc etc.
iPhone 4S arrives on Friday.

BlackBerry...
Can't beat their email set up, in my opinion.
I went from an iPhone 4 back to a BlackBerry...missed the physical keyboard and instant email.
From a communication standpoint I don't think you can beat a BlackBerry...if you like all the apps/games and what not...get an iPhone.
There is only one way to settle this....Someone needs to get Matth3w over here to douche up this thread
