Amazon Seen Selling 15 Million Kindle Fire Tablets by 2013
Amazon sales of its new Kindle Fire tablet will reach 15 million by 2013, according to a forecast released Thursday by research firm Strategy Analytics.
“Our first impression of the Amazon Kindle Fire is very positive,” Peter King , Director of Strategy Analystics' Tablet and Touchscreen Strategies, said as part of the announcement. “Amazon has avoided what most of the earlier iPad competitors failed to avoid; a direct comparison on size, features, price and user experience.”

Best Buy Spent $530,000 on Lobbying
Best Buy spent $530,000 on governmental lobbying in the second quarter, the AP reported this week, citing disclosures.
The amount is an 83 percent increase over the same period the year before.
Best Buy lobbied on such issues as debit card fees, electronics recycling, telecom standards, lithium battery safety and more, lobbying Congress, the EPA, the FCC and other agencies.

Staples to Carry Kindle Fire
Staples will join Best Buy as a retail partner for the launch of Amazon's Kindle Fire, Staples announced Thursday.
The Kindle Fire and the two new Kindle Touch devices will arrive in November in Staples locations, as well as at Best Buy and from Amazon itself.
