Just got back from a week in Lake Lure North Carolina with out trips to Mt. Mitchell, The Smokies, Cherokee et al. Found by accident a Vette lovers road course of all trips !!! Travel NC Rt. 9 from Bat Cave to Black Mountain and return, [ near Chimney Rock] and is 30 mi. east of Asheville. A TOE TINGLER OF A TRIP !!!

Wife and I went to Lake Lure a couple years back. Bat Cave; wanted to send my son a post card with that postmark on it. If you watch the GPS the road up to Asheville looks like a bowl of Chef Boyardee spaghetti stirred lightly. You couldn't drive a semi with a 53" box through there without taking down trees on the inside corners.
