My security light is on all the time while driving. The manual says that indicates a "potential problem". Security system seems to work OK but the light remains on??

I'd try resetting codes.

Is this Michael? Hit me up sometime! I still want that Italian recipe!

Hold down options press fuel 3 times. Your codes will come up, you can use the other buttons to navigate and reset to reset the codes. E/M will exit the menu.

Also clean your key off.

:yesnod: Sure I'll take it. There was a CorvetteForum member, now that I think of it, his name was MyC5inParadise, his name was Michael. he had a vacation home down in Florida but worked up in the Northeast, I think since then he moved down to Florida full time.

I installed a muffler system on his C5 in exchange he brought me several frozen dishes of home made pasta, sauce, each with 3 or 4 different types of sausage in them. Holy crap they were good.

Btw did clearing the code clear up your problem? What code is currently thrown causing the light?

Followed all the info on Code reset but NOW, she won't crank!! Tried both keys, both remotes, rechecked codes and now get a 40 - BCM B2723 Pass Key Detection Circuit.
I think I might be beyond my depth for electronic repair but I sure would like to be able to START the car and drive it to the shop rather than having to have it towed.
ANY HELP????

The easiest fix would be if you have a dirty Key.

Thanks to all for your input - unfortunately for my bank account I had to have the ignition switch replaced. Seem there was a bad sensor (couldn't read key) and a loose connection in the lock/tumbler set.
Part was about $150 - labor was $250!! Oh well, she starts and runs great, security system works fine and, I learned alot.:hurray::seeya:

I bet you could have cleaned the switch. My car would just cut off at times and that was the problem.
