Watching the news they were talking about the Reno airshow and reported that there was an old Huey there on display. Someone fueled it up and they used it to fly people to the hospital. I was medevac'd a few times in one and was mighty glad for the ride.

It's true. I read one of the news reports of that also. Additionally, the Hueys are used for transporting passengers in Baghdad right now.

It is but the truly awesome thing was the guys who flew them. Some of the bravest men I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

The Marines right down the ramp from where I work fly the Super Cobras and UH-1N Hueys. Get to watch them every day.:cheers:

Very cool.

I live near Whiting Field where they train helicopter pilots and hundreds of them fly over my house on weekdays. I don't mind the noise at all.

An AH-1W Super Cobra crashed at Camp Pendleton today killing two Marine pilots. :sadangel::sadangel::patriot::patriot:
