6 flavor pound cake:

ingredients -

cake

3 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut flavor
1 teaspoon almond flavor
1 teaspoon lemon flavor
1 teaspoon rum flavor
1 teaspoon butter flavor
5 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

glaze

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon coconut flavor
1/2 teaspoon almond flavor
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavor
1/2 teaspoon rum flavor
1/2 teaspoon butter flavor

directions:

cream sugar, butter, margarine. add vanilla, coconut, almond, lemon, rum, and butter flavors; add eggs, beating until smooth. add flour, baking powder, and evaporated milk. blend until well mixed. bake at 300F in floured tube pan 1-1/2 to 2 hours. (note, can also be baked in Bundt pan). pour cooled glaze over hot cake after removing cake from pan. (this lets the hot cake soak up all the glaze)

glaze directions: cook until sugar dissolves; cool, pour over hot cake.

makes one BIG serving, or about 8-12 polite servings. :D

edited directions for applying glaze. pour glaze over hot cake, after removing from pan, not while still in pan :slap: this lets it soak in real nicely.

sorry.

Does this produce a dry or a moist poundcake?

I hate dry pound cakes. Like 'em really wet. Heh.

:iagree: My mom used to make a pound cake that was absolutely to die for. I have never had one like it. It was always moist and very very heavy. She died without me getting the recipe. I asked my dad for it several years later. He said he couldn't find it and gave me his wife's recipe. Never tried it but will give this one a shot Doug.
