If not bad enough that you have to buy a hunting license, fishing license. Bow hunting stamp, duck stamp. White wing stamp, I have no problem with the license fees as they go into the coffer to help preserve the wildlife in the state that it is issued in. But they came up with the hunter’s safety certification course some years back. Now instead of making the acceptable age standard across the board no they left it up to the individual state. State A the cutoff date for not having it is. 1971, state B 1957, C 2000 BC it pisses me off that I don’t need one in Texas but I do in Kansas. Where did they come up with the magical year from? Typical frigging government BS no one can get together and make it simple. I agree that the course is needed as a lot of young hunters need the proper education of being responsible out in the wild. Oh and here is the funny thing you can get a hunting license without having the certification you just can’t use the damn thing.

You could move to a place where they don't allow you to own firearms, and this wouldn't be a problem.

It never hurts to have the refresher. I took it with my dad close to 20 years ago. Beat him on the final exam to boot.

nope it's a two day 12 hour course in Kansas only took 3 minutes to bitch about it. :D

:iagree: I just think that they could have gotten together and come up with a common date. Look at getting a drivers license for instance you need to be 16 pretty much so everywhere with some exception of a year or so. Not 10 – 20 years difference like the hunters safety class requirements.

Only in Kansas does it take 12 hours to say, "Don't shoot anything orange."
