Don't know why I dreaded this day coming. I guess it's the sobering reminder that the way we lived changed forever on that day. Now even the 1990s seem as innocent as the 50s; we used to get on a plane, and our biggest worry was our luggage getting lost. Flying used to thrill me--I loved getting pushed back into the seat during takeoff; now we hate everything about it.

We have people to remember and people to thank today. We know who to remember: The brave people who decided to "Let's roll!" and give their lives to save others. The people in the Twin Towers and the members of the NYPD and the FDNY who lost their lives. And their families who are still with us.

Who to thank: On that day the NYPD and FDNY who showed remarkable bravery and effort. God bless them. But who I thank most are the men and women of the military who have kept us safe. Despite our Government making their jobs almost impossible to do, they found a way. Although they may have good intentions, credit doesn't go to our elected leaders; no, it goes to 20-year-olds in strange lands fighting for us, to SEALS, to Marines, Soldiers, and Airmen who do their jobs so well. Thank you.

I think the country has largely moved on from the events of 9/11. Remember the patriotism following that day? I do. I don't see any evidence of that 10 years later do you? Now we have people bitching about the war, pissing about Obama, and pitching a bitch about every little pet peeve they have.

I dont agree with where we currently are, this is just an observation.

:patriot::patriot::patriot: To all who serve to protect our Great Land.

We lost major freedom 10 years ago today. What we need to remember is to never bow down to the idolatry of those who wish to destroy our way of life. No it might not be perfect but it is the best in the world. We need to move back to our roots and stand strong for what we believe in. make the government stop wasting all it's time and money on the special interest groups out there who's only agenda is to profit themselves. Make it so that if you want to live in this country you follow the rules and laws of this country. You don’t make this place your little sand pile away from home.

Personally, I'm staying away from all of the news coverage, and threads about 9/11......I lived through it, via the media in real time, and really do not want to relive it.....The helplessness that I felt while sitting there watching it, moves me to this day......I'll not forget the victims, however, I just don't need to be reminded of it.....:sadangel:
