95 registered so far (3-31-10)
I just wanted to give everyone an update on the Vettes at Waterside event. As of this morning (March 7, 2010), we have 47 registered so far. Please keep in mind, because of the City of Norfolk and their rules, this is a pre-registered event only. We are allowed up to 140 cars at the event before the cutoff.
If you have not sent your registration in and plan to attend, please get yours in the mail today. If you have problems downloading the registration form from the "sticky", you can go to www.beachcomberscorvetteclub.com and get it from the home page.
The deadline for mailing your registration is March 26, so you only have three weeks to get yours in the mail. Once you mail yours in, please allow a few weeks to get your dash sheet and arrival directions.
(if you happen to show up on April 10 and did not register, we will do what we can to get you into the event. You may have to wait until everyone who is pre-registered to get parked first?)
Just one more note, in the original tradition of Vettes at Waterside, we have decided to do away with the trophies this year. It is intended to be a fun and relaxing day with Vettes and friends and NOT a car show. If you're only coming to win a trophy, you might be a little disappointed. Remember, all of the net proceeds will go to Relay for Life! :yesnod:

You picked a good event to start things off. Its not a show so don't worry about the car being perfect, you'll see everything from show cars to daily drivers. This event is about Vette folks getting together and enjoying freinds and cars.:cheers:

Add another one for the Daily Driver category, although every now and then it does find itself at a show (more for helping out a cause then collecting plastic), and has even been seen at the track.

No, I was in the area with the wife on Sat. morning after breakfast and wanted to swing by and just drop the papers in his mailbox. We find the place and I'm slowing down as I see his address and he was already out at the box. Needless to say he was understandably surprised to see me.:skep:

Yeah, when are we planning our Peninsula meet and caravan? Better route planning also a must this year.:willy:

Maybe we can shoot for the AMC24 again this year, that seemed to be a good spot. I don't want to rely on my NAV this time, it didn't like the tunnel. Hopefully someone that knows the way will lead.

Your NAV must be f'ed up then, mine LOVES to send me through tunnels....durring rush hour....when I have no need to go anywhere near a tunnel. LOL

I would gladly try it faster, just need to convince the LEO's it is for a valid reason. So far my best is 130, third gear and I was running out of tunnel pretty quick. :D

The application did say RAIN or shine, so even if it is pouring the vert will be there...and hell maybe even topless. Contrary to popular beliefs what some people have been lured to believe, fiberglass does NOT melt when it gets wet. :D

yeah, i was in a hurry to get back to home. there was cake and it was going fast. i'll make sure the car is cleaned up pretty well for Saturday though or as best as the pollen will allow :D

that was some seriously fun stuff today. it was great to meet you guys and place a beautiful car with a name. mine was the half-ragged looking one next to the charity car out by the road. :hurray: for a great show with great weather, now time to go apply some aloe for the sunburn since i didnt think about sunblock :slap:

That was a really great event today, so glad I didn't miss it like I did last year. Already looking forward to next year.

Mine was the Mag Red C5 Vert with the guitar in the drivers seat. Black Grandsport was on one side, and a white C5 was on the other.
You my friend are a very brave man making me an offer like that...I wore out two motors in my 85, and three trannys...even though they are gorgeous works of art, I still drive them like the sports cars they are. :cheers:
