The family and I took the camper to Jekyll Island GA for the long weekend. Uneventful trip down, weather was good, just a really nice time. Coming home, the caulking let go on the front right side of the camper and the wind caught the fiberglass siding and peeled it from the front of the camper to the door. Looks like a trailer after a tornado. I'm guessing that I had some water get in on the front seal that loosened things up a bit and came undone on the way home. I didn't see it in the mirror, hear it, nothing. USAA is closed until tomorrow, not like anything could be done right now anyway. To top it off, it was raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock by the time I got home. Oh well, that's life I suppose. We all had a great time and made it home safe and that's what's important. The camper can be fixed, but it looks like hell.
stuff can be fixed or replaced.
good thing your family is OK.

I'll take a pic and post tomorrow. I'm beat and didn't feel like fooling with it. It was raining so hard I was just concerned about getting some plastic over it. Trust me though, the fiberglass overlay ripped off like a piece of paper.

That's the important thing.
Glad y'all had fun.
Sounds like it fits in perfect in middle GA.
I repo tons of those things and they are JUNK. The floors are paper thin as are the walls, etc. If you ever took one apart you would freak at how big of POS they are. Just garbage. Good luck with your fix.:shots:

I can't argue there. I don't think any of them are very well made. Kinda like a boat. Something to throw money at. Thing is, I really like taking the kids on trips, and plus a change of scenery is always good. But, in the grand scheme of things, they are still "trailers". Hopefully the insurance can help.

Well, I'd have to duct tape the whole damaged area and then try to get some paint to semi match!!!:D:leaving:

Holiday Rambler makes a decent one, if there is such a thing.

Mine is a Keystone Outback Lite. Yeah, big toss up on a "decent one". I had a pop up camper before this, and it was a POS too.

Sorry for the bad luck.
Water is the enemy of RVs. Check your roof twice a year and re-caulk as necessary.
