Why the hell is it that the weather forecast is so damn important? I mean damn, do I need to hear the same information every 5 minutes while trying to watch the news? Do they have to interupt a TV show every time a duck farts or a cow pisses on a flat rock? I mean the constant beeping and weather info streaming across the bottom of the screen for hours at a time aren't enough.

It's raining. OMFG !!!!! I never would have noticed the water streaming down my window.

Yeah, but up here it's just raining. All those alerts get annoying after awhile.
I guess the local weather guys need some excitement.

nasty weather for 3 days here on the coast.

trees down...roof shingles blown around...fencing blown down...sand all over the road...palm fronds everywhere...signs blown out or blown down...

the tourists are all :willy:

and this is only the east side of a tropical storm. you'd think it was armageddon or somethin' :rofl:

OP is correct. 10 years ago...this was just another late summer storm. nowadays...it's big news.

We have some real drama queens for weathermen down here. Acting classes must be required of meteorologists now. Last week when Katia got spun up, one station showed the predicted path aimed straight at central Florida. Every other station, local and national, showed the storm turning well north while still well out to sea.

Damage reported in Atlanta from tornadoes. Now why would people travel on this holiday when they knew a hurricane/tropical storm was forming and heading that way?

I just called the TV station and let them know that I noticed it was raining and asked if maybe they could switch back to the US Open now. The chick said "there is a tornado warning you idiot." and then she hung up on me.

Same reason mental giants went to the beach when Irene was passing the coast here in SoFla.
