Guy buys brand new Vette and parks it in a seedy part of town while patroning a bar. Comes out of establishment to find the car missing. Reports it stolen, but has no insurance. :(

Some 35 years later, another guy buys a pristine Vette for significant coin. Goes to register Vette, DMV runs the VIN and gets a hit on a stolen car. Original owner gets re-united with stolen car.

The blue vette on the platform is the XP-880 also known as the Astro II. It was GM's mid engine response to the possibility of Ford fielding a road going version of the GT-40.
