......what she wants for her birthday!

UUUUHHHHMMM............I want a new car.......UUUHHHMMM....I want a BMW!

She's been harping on me for years about a BMW, so welcome to the family....335D with M sport package. 425 ft lb turbo diesel impressed the hell out of this Chevy guy!!!! Got 37.1 mpg on the 165 mile trip home from Richmond last night.

wow!

I've never been a BMW guy...but that is damn nice. great mileage also.

I'll show my ignorance here: Is that a 30K car? 40K?...50K? you don't need to answer if ya don't want. I'm just curious.

160 miles from the service center?

Long way for warranty work.

Nice looking ride. I have the M3 coupe, not as good of gas mileage but fun to drive.

No problem! Here's the online ad (http://new.richmondbmwmidlothian.com/detail/new-2011-bmw-335-d-m-sport-premium-richmond-virginia-a1150880.html) until they update their inventory on their website.

Any BMW dealer nation wide can handle the service/warranty work.

Hi Leo, THANKS! I looked at two M3's they had and absolutely loved them. This is our daily driver and if the quality and dependability proves good, I'll look real hard at the M3.

Funny, but...it's a Caribbean Joe (a Tommy Bahama knock off)...probably a 50-60 dollar shirt. Wife was anxious to tell me she found it on sale at Bealls for 15 bux.

That's quite an understatement, right? What do you get for actual fuel economy (not calculated using C5 math, please)? I don't recall the exact numbers but, looking at the window sticker, the M3 has 8-cylinder performance for 12-cylinder fuel consumption.

A real shifter! Hallelujah! They DO still exist!

The 335d is only available with an automatic. Is that what you mean by "real shifter" (as opposed to column shifter)?

Don't, you'll like the torque in the 335d more. Thinking about giving one a try, but no manual transmission on our side of the pond.

Look forward to your comments.

OOPS! In her excitement to get pictures, she forgot to put it in park before pushing the button to turn off the engine.:leaving:

I love the torque of this little monster! I should have said I would possibly add an M3.:D

Wife's car! Besides that, she wanted the LeMans Blue to match the Z06, but the Gray had more options for less $$.

I saw a stick in mid-position surrounded by a nice leather boot and thought it was a manual car. Didn't look for the absence of a third pedal.

Wife wanted something that would go from 0 to 200 in less than 6 second. Got her a bathroom scale. Anyone have a spare bedroom?

Sure just let me know when you get out of the hospital from having the scale removed from your arse.

335D doesn't have a manual tranny on any side of the pond. It's only available with the auto worldwide. Given the torque curve though, the torque converter is your friend.

I have the same car and I love it.

I average a hair over 29mpg per tank and I run it pretty hard!

The M3 doesn't have the torque but does well. So far I've been happy with the M, it corners great!. I plan on hitting IN 66 this fall, catch the fall colors and take on the nice curves. I took the V up through there and want to compare the two.
Nice looking ride.
