View Full Version : Thank you China!
A tip of the hat to our Pete Rose headed neighbors to the east.
I took my Christmas lights off the house today as it was finally nice on a weekend and if not for China making these things $1.99 for a strand of 100 I would have had to take them off all carefully and put them away neatly for next year. Instead, I got to head out with my trusty snips and cut the muthas off and throw em in the dumpster.
Thanks China.

Sounds like you unplugged them first.

We went an even cheaper route this year.......'didn't even bother to put them up!! I noticed a lot of our neighbors didn't either. I guess I wasn't the only one lacking the Xmas spirit this year!

I go a really easy route then all those lights....I have a 12.5 foot inflatable Santa that I put in the front. Put it in place, a few tent stakes, a few support leads, plug it in and 12.5 feet of Christmas cheer.

I got a funny story about cheap Christmas lights, Steve. One year I was stringing up the lights with my son. He had to be about seven years old. I had stapled some up the year before and was re-using the lights. As I was up on the ladder, hanging them on the house, I noticed one of the wires in the strand was broken. I thought I would just strip the insulation off the wire with my teeth and twist the wire back together. Then when I came to the end of the strand I would get down and go get some electrical tape and wrap the wire. I put the wire in my teeth and got the piss knocked out of me. What I didn't know was that my son had plugged the lights in to admire my work. Jesus was I ticked.
Yer right, that is a funny story!

No, me getting a chemistry set for Christmas one year and then consuming the whole thing in one sitting explains a lot.

I pissed my pants a funny day-glow orange color and forgot my name for a day and a half but other than that, everything was just perfect. I am pretty sure my anti-freeze was good until way below -20* in the winter of '83.
