Anyone ever had to kill poison ivy?

Is it a vine on a tree? If so, just cut the base of the root. I don't think Ive ever seen a weed killer that will kill it, doesn't mean there isn't one tho. I know gasoline works.:leaving:

No, it's not on a tree. It's growing out of the ground near some hedges.

Round-Up works for me. Some larger vines need a second application in about 2-3 weeks.

Cut it back to the ground, when the tender new growth appears, use Round-Up. Guaranteed to kill it.

I'm not even certain it's poison ivy.

I hired a yard guy to trim back the very overgrown hedges. When he finished, he said "that right there's poison ivy, you know."

From reading online, however, I am not sure if they are actually poison ivy.

These vines have many leaves growing on the stem, directly across from one another along the stem and at right angles to the stem, and at the end there is a single leaf in line with the stem (forming a three-leaf cluster at the very end).

Isn't poison ivy supposed to have only three leaves on a single stem? I'm trying to get the pictures I took uploaded so I can post them.

The leaves are a very light green color.

That's not poisen ivy. The leaves always come in groups of 3 coming off of the main stalk. The middle leave always has a longer stem then then 2 companion leaves. Yours has 3 leaves on the tip, but then just groups of two on the way back to the base.

You'll need a Batarang and some BatSmoke bombs with Bat-KnockOut gas. It'll take at least one movie and maybe a sequel (call Clooney & Kilmer Exterminators) but you can get rid of it.

Around here we have stuff called poison oak that looks sort of like that. I'm mildly allergic to it, as in if I were to cut a bunch down and carry it to the trash my arms would break out a little bit for a couple of days. Now poison ivy kicks my ever-lovin' ass and I avoid it like the plague. Stop being a big sissy, put on some gloves, and cut that shit down and toss it in the trash.
