Remember The Munsters? No, not The Addams Family, The Munsters, with Fred Gwyne. Classic American bizzare TV, totally a product of its time, impossible to recreate.
So of course NBC is remaking it. So, how do they play it? Family Guy Meets Frankenstein? Everybody Loves Herman? Two And A Half Munsters?
No. They say they are looking to make it "darker", "edgier" and "focus more on the characters origins". Oh, and the episodes will be an hour long.
What? Focus on the what? Oh boy, I can just hear the pitch now...
"It's like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, only funny."
What else is coming?
Well, Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane is at Fox, rebooting The Flintstones for 2013, CBS is developing a return of Bewitched and is rumored to be working a Get Smart redux, in the style of 24.
I can't figure out the reasoning behind remaking these shows, aside from The Flintstones. I get that.
I just can't see where they get the idea that people are wanting remakes of The Munsters or Bewitched.
Anyone that comes up with Family Guy will screw up anything else. They already did a Bewitched movie so a tv show doesn't make sense. The Munsters might be ok depending on the writers.

What was that phrase where the frog appeared outta smoke on a table/file cabinet? Tweek the magic finger Frogieee!! and broinggggg went the sound of a spring, as the frog appeared from smoke.....
There was a chick we called Froggie, who was foxy as hell, seriously knock out looks, but she talked like a frog quite often....sort of a raspy funny sound....and so the name, but I always wanted her to tweek my magic finger....and she WAS smoking hot......needed NO special effects....
but the HONEYMOONERS could be probably the best rerun comedy of all time, dunno who has the serious comedy talent today to do it....
that show was only a year old, one season, I think.....
but the possibilities are endless on that theme.....
white/black/orientals/latino that apartment could become the laugh riot of the nation in a nanosecond.....
Too the MOON Alice!!!!
:lol::lol::cheers:
AND don't forget you heard it here first folks, so when someone copies my concept, they have to pay the bux....I settle for 4 grand per hour show.....
4 grans X 50= 200 grand/year....chicken feed to them....

That whole list and no Joanie Loves Chachi? :skep:
Wonder Woman failed...not sure if you'd count that as a remake, reboot or something else.
Charlies Angels is on the way as well...

They're remaking Bewitched? They tried to do a spinoff (IIRC in the 80's) called Tabitha, which starred Tabitha all grown up. The show was a real stinker. I remember she drove around in a Volkswagon Thing.
