Someone is harassing my gf, and claiming to be someone the aren't. It's an NYC area code, but on a cell phone that's useless. Need to find out who it's owner is and hopefully an approximate location. Can anyone help? Please PM if you can
Why don't you just have the number blocked?

This person has also impersonated me on a dating website, trying to start problems with mine and my gf's relationship. They stole pics off my Facebook to do it.

File harresment claim with local PD, then get number blocked, and delete your pics off FB.

For the record, you can't just block cell numbers. You can signup for a service that's used to protect, say, your kids to do it though (through the phone company).
Not sure why, but that's what I had to do with AT&T once.
There are pay services out there as well for looking up cell numbers. I tried long ago, but they didn't really garner much, though they weren't too expensive. Just googling the phone number will turn up lots of pay services.

no.
You call your service provider and have them block the number for harrassment.
Verizon did it free.

Sounds like a determined person to go through the trouble of starting a fake account. If you block the number, they will just use a different phone. One of two things you can do. Make a police report and have a "phone trap" placed on her phone. Or you can have her change her number and hope the person doesn't know her well enough to get the new number.
Good luck finding someone to really "bust" the cell number. If you find someone, let me know.:shots:

Well, it does vary from carrier to carrier, and things change over time, but this is from '09
Carrier Options
AT&T: If you have AT&T Wireless, you’re in luck. Although this luck will come at the price of $4.99 per month, AT&T offers a service called Parental Controls that will allow you to limit “who the phone can call or text (incoming and outgoing) by blocking or allowing certain numbers.” After a month of subscribing to this service, your tireless caller will likely get the hint that that their calls won’t be going through anytime soon, and hopefully throw in the towel.
Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon: Currently, these providers do not offer the ability to block a specific number from calling. At the time of this publication, Verizon states that they are not “able to block specific numbers from your wireless phone; however, we are able to block all incoming calls. We strongly recommend that you utilize your Caller ID feature to screen your incoming calls. This way, you will be able to ignore unknown callers at your discretion. If the unwanted calls persist, we encourage you to change your wireless number.” However, this is not to say that your device does not have a feature that allows you to block a number.
Of course you could use the phone's feature to block the number, but that just makes the cell ignore it.
Then again, all they have to do is block the caller id feature when they make the call.

You should seriously post the number. I am sure a few folks on here could track it down. If nothing less send thousands of texts/poop pictures to it.

We had our neighbor bothering us a lot because our dogs would bark and piddly shoit like that. We called verizon, told the customer service lady that we were being harrassed, we gave her the number, and blocked that number from going through to our phones.
That was in 2009 also.
if w would have done it our selves on line, out would have been a $2 monthly fee.
