Please help! Check engine light came on this morning. I checked the codes for the first time! Cleared them, drove car, checked codes again.
It says 10PCM 3 codes p0134, p0154, p1571, 28tcs no codes, 38rtd no comm, 60ipc no codes.
She's a 97 auto, 73300k. Picked her up Friday am after having the ac replaced. Compressor had metal shavings in it. Also replaced water pump, thermostat, expansion valve, accumalator.
Thanks!
Lisa

P0134 (left) and P0154 (right) are "no activity" codes for the front 02 sensors. These are what turned the check engine light on.

The P1571 seems to be a non-clearable code that is present on 97s only. Don't worry about this one.

First thing I'd check is fuse #15 under the hood. This is the heater circuit for the 02 sensors. If that is good, then I'd bet the 02s didn't get reconnected after the recent service work. Given the work that was recently done, I could see the right 02 sensor needing to be disconnected, not so much the left one. But probably a simple fix.

P0174 is right bank too lean, which could be a resultant code caused by the above.

9 times out of 10, I've found that the 02 sensors are the problem. :yesnod:

J checked the #15 fuse. It's good. He'll check the 02 sensors tomorrow. When I drove her yesterday I told J she sounded "different". My ME/racing son told me she was "running lean". John drove her this morning and the check engine light came on. Thank you both for the quick answers!

Winner---O2 sensor was not connected. Then my battery died a few days later. Replaced it. No check engine light and no codes right now. Thanks all!
