Getting stung on the tip of your ear by a yellow jacket will make a man run and scream like a little girl.
Holy jeebus does that hurt.
Carry on.
Put wet tobacco on it.
Ask your husband for some.:D

Exact same thing happened to me 3 weeks ago. I was draggin part of a tree that fell near the cabin with an ATV, and drug that SOB right over a nest. Lil' bastard tagged me on the top of my left ear.
Some of the most blasphemous, arcane profanity known to man ensued....while running and screaming like a little girl.......

Meh. I've been stung before plenty of times. Speaking of ear stings, I was driving a tractor bush hogging and ran over a nest of Africanized yellow jackets. I felt the sting in my left ear and saw them swarming, but I just kept going, trying not to panic (they can smell fear, literally). They chased my helper who was cleaning the fencerow nearby over 150'.
My ear hurt like a mofo, and only later on did I realize I had got it 5 times, all in the same ear. It swelled to easily 3 times the normal size and was beet red for a few days.
My helper did take off running, but I am proud to say I neither took off running, nor cried (like a girl or otherwise).
Try on your tongue.
Picked up my can of soda at a picnic, didn’t see him inside.

Damn. That's gotta hurt. Really hurt.
Pee on your hand than rub it on your ear. Jusy kidding that only for Jelly fish stings.
Plus I think you can now get fired from your job if you put pee on any part of your body.
Try scraping the stinger that is in your ear with a credit card . :superbee:

Believe it or no, if you just get off the tractor and leaving it running, they will stay with the tractor and leave you alone. They're attracted to the vibration. After several minutes, they leave, and you can resume work on the tractor.

I maintain that yellow jackets deliver the most painful sting of any bee. I got lit up at my Mom's house in VA a few weeks ago. Doing some work in her yard and 3 of them got me and I didn't even see them. Ninja bees I guess. Once I got away from them and scoped out their little in the ground nest. I went back that night and poured gas down the hole. That got 'em.

I don't think yellow jackets leave a stinger. I thought that was just bee's.

Mother ******* yellow jackets. I had an incident, well, a long time ago. I think that I was in 7th or 8th grade. I was cutting through some dense woods with a friend...we were on opposite sides of a stream. He said that some thing "bit" him on the calf, so we stopped to check it out....It turns out that he stirred up a nest of yellow jackets and they swarmed us.
I am in my mid-30's now, and I can still remember clearly the feel of those bastards in my hair and in my ears (the dry buzzing sound)...stinging my scalp, chin, ears, arms, etc...as we ran down the clearest path (through the stream). The rocks in the stream were slimy, so we both fell multiple times and got all ripped up.
We each got nailed 30-40 times. My mom took as both to the hospital. Seriously, my heart rate increased just typing this post. It was one of my worst experiences.

I got stung on the upper lip once because a yellow jacket got in my soft drink can. I didn't realize it and when I went to take a drink, it got me. That hurt like a mfkr and my upper lip swelled up like a balloon. :willy:

Y'all make me hurt just reading the stories of getting stung... The worst I ever had was running around my grandma's pool as a kid and stepping on one and the stinger went into the arch of my foot pretty deep. My grandmother was a nurse so she doctored me up. And I thought that was traumatic until reading everyone's story's. I hope your the ear is ok. I have heard of baking soda, making it into a paste helps remove a stinger and takes the sting out of the spot, but never had to use any tricks (knock on wood).
