View Full Version : Love the Riveria Maya
I went snorkeling yesterday and came across a ray 3 to 4 feet across and about 6 feet long, a school of squid about which were about a foot in length. Wish I had a camera that took pictures underwater!
Tomorrow probably will do the ATV jungle tour, Friday the Ruins and Monday or Tuesday Swimming with the Dolphon, snorkeling with the sharks and turtles and the zip lines.

Went snorkeling again today and now have a underwater camera but the pics need to be developed. Found the squid again but no ray.
one of the people that work here said that they get barracuda in near the shore.

I may have to check out Riveria Maya. :yesnod: I have had the 'luxury' of snorkeling some awesome locations. Its soo easy and sooo much fun. If you have time out see if they have 'resort dives'. A resort dive is for the non-certified tourist types. They cover basic hand signals and equipment in a pool then you go out for a shallow water dive (no more than 50 feet). I did a 'resort dive' in Nassau this past May and absolutely loved it! I was hoping to get another dive in before the end of the year but that doesn't look like that is going to happen.
Me in Nassau about 40 feet down.

Yeah, its a sunken Cessna. I tried to swim through it but my lack of underwater control resulted in a massive FAIL. My dive instructor had to pull me out feet first.

I may need to get the name of the resort you stayed at. Riveria Maya may be a nice for a quick (3 or 4 day) getaway.

You're not trying hard enough. More effort! :yell:
:D
That would take a whole bunch of shopping time to forgive.
I remember the times in Barbados, crystal clear water 80 degrees, white sand beaches and great rum. Maybe one of these days I can convince the wife to take a real vacation instead of stay at home ones.
Tomorrow we are heading out to Chichen Itza which is the Mayan Ruins.
Monday we head out for an ATV tour of the Jungle and Wednesday we head to Isla Mujeres to swim with the dolphins
