RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Deputies have arrested a man they say went to his ex-boss's house and kidnapped him at gunpoint in an effort to get the night's money deposits from Dollar General.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said 25-year-old Marlon O. Williams was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery late Monday night.
Lott said Williams went to his former employer's home around 11:45 p.m. wearing a ski mask and gloves. While pointing a gun at the victim, Williams demanded the money deposits from the Dollar General, the sheriff said.
When the victim said he didn't have the money, Williams forced him into his car and told his ex-boss to drive to the store, investigators said. While in route, the victim was able to flag down two Columbia police officers who were able to apprehend Williams.
Because the alleged crime occurred in the county, Williams was then turned over to Richland County.
Williams was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
