Went back on active duty soon after cruise in 8, and have been deployed since Jun 07, got back from Afghan on 3 Dec 09.

I forgot to do this mod while I was installing my K&N intake. I used a Sharpie to draw lines under the K&N filter then used a utility knife to cut the shroud. It was a little hard to keep perfectly straight lines but you can't see it under the filter. The only draw back to this is dust can now get into the engine bay more easily, but I lived with a C5 Z06 as a daily driver and it wasn't that bad so I'm not worried about it on a non-daily driver.
