My trial subscription for McAfee protection that came with the new computer is about to expire. They want $60.00 to renew it for a year. Seems a bit high to me. I'd really like to get a one time type program rather than one of these subscriptions.
What are you using for internet security?

I use Avast, it is free and it works as good as any I have tried.

AVG Free + MalwareBytes + Spybot
Although i use these, Windows7 works very well from my experiences.

NO32 AntiVirus. I'm not using the Internet Security as it seems too much bloat. I have a 3 user license that costs me less than $50 one a year.
You could also get the free Microsoft Security Essentials. Its a very good AV.

AVG Free + MalwareBytes + Spybot
This minus spybot.
Not that there's anything wrong with it.

I have a MacBook Pro.
I have been using it for several hours every day since around 2006. Whenever the computer is on, it's connected to the internet via high-speed cable modem (constantly).
For those of you who argue that "there are viruses out there for the Mac", why have I never, ever had a problem with them? Especially for as long as I have been using it.
There is NO antivirus software installed on this machine, and there never will be.

I use Avast free version (http://www.avast.com/en-us/index), Spybot Search & Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html) and AdAware free version (http://www.lavasoft.com/).
Although Spybot does it too, I've also added a ton of bad or advertizing websites that get rediercted back to the localhost (127.0.0.1) to my HOSTS file. Instructions can be found here (http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm).

I've got Comcast, so I use the "free" Norton. Shit, I'm paying for it already!
Well, I mostly use a Mac.... but I also have a Windows 7 machine.
I don't run jack schitt on it for antivirus. I also use Chrome and I never click on random crap that people email me.
I've used Avast before on another machine though and I like it.

I've moved my parents and many others to MSE and so far it's been excellent. In fact it was able to find something on my dad's laptop that had been sitting there for who knows how long that McAfee never found. :/
I use Avast, it is free and it works as good as any I have tried.:withstupid:

I wonder is MSE was developed from Panda Anti-virus? I used to use Panda 5 or 6 years ago and then MS bought them and release a trial version of MS Anti-virus which was just Panda with some MS dressing. :leaving:
