Where did you mount the horns and tank on your truck?

Inside valve location in rear of tray.

I've upgraded to a real train horn lever that will handle 1/2 inch poly tubing and 200 psi.

NEW train horn valve:

But...that was old location, I'm moving them to the bed of the truck bolted onto the bottom of a new aluminum tool box. Old tank is 6 gallon, I just put a 12 gallon tank inside the tool box.

Also going from small electric air pumps to on board engine driven compressor. Will fill the 12 gallon tank in 6 seconds at 200 psi.

Heck, if a little Honda Civic can find a place it should be easy on a big truck.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to install horns too, but I wasn't sure they could handle the elements under the truck.

Real train horns are cast aluminum. While they wont runs, the salt will eat them up. You can see on the pictures where the salt is starting to corrode the aluminum.

This is why I now have to clean them up by glass beading, polishing and painting them. They will now be in back of the bed out of the salt spray.

Get a couple good coats of paint on them if you are going to mount them between the frames. Some guys remove their spare tires and put the horns there.
