besides being a tasty treat for Joe Buck and his swamp folk kin, it is also immune to poisonous snake bites. In fact one of the possum's favorite meals is snake. The rattlesnake and Copperhead probably developed their poison to combat snake eating possums. At this point in the evolutionary chain possums have the upper hand but rattlesnakes will probably get better at killing in the future.
Get bit by a rattler and die... blame the possums. :rofl:

Possums live in Australia, Opossums in the Western Hemisphere.

Possum isn't actually that bad barbecued. A little greasy but it is tasty. And no, I am not bullshitting. I am dead serious.
