COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Bond was denied Wednesday afternoon for a 34-year-old man accused of shooting a 15-year-old boy in the head.
Shag Marshall was denied bond for an attempted murder charge. A murder charge for Marshall will be heard at a higher court since the victim, Calvin Fishburne, died Wednesday afternoon. Additionally, Marshall was given a $20,000 surety bond for possession of a weapon.
Authorities say Fishburne was shot in the head inside a Colleton County mobile home on Tuesday. The family says the shooting started over the suspect's ex-girlfriend.
According to investigators, the boy answered the door for Marshall, who was looking for his older brother.
The teen's family says Marshall was invited inside the Keegan Drive mobile and then opened fire on the boy, shooting him in the head. The boy's 17-year-old brother was also hurt in the shooting.
Deputies arrested Marshall after his scent was trailed by police dogs through the woods.
Marshall is charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. He is also charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting at the victim's 17-year-old brother.
Marshall is behind bars at the Colleton County Detention Center. The suspect has a rap sheet dating all the way back to 1994, including felony drug charges, felony weapons charges and burglary.
A family member says the suspect was looking for the victim's older brother, who was at work at the time. The teen had three brothers.
