to a Ford E350 work van?

Expensive, I'm sure... but the first time I lose $800 worth of power tools because I didn't remember to walk all the way around the van before entering Lowe's I might wish I'd spent the money.

Especially the second time I lose $800 worth of tools. :D

Are the wiring harnesses already there?

Doubtful. Probably the mounting area is prepped, but no wire.

Dammit man. :banghead:

I'd have thought that, since these things are often sent to the custom shops to be made into family cruisers / stalker vans, that they would have the wiring in place.

There's a reason the van cost 15K not 20K. When I installed the HUD in my C5, I had to cut the dash and provide the wire. Now if you can find the door wiring (junkyard) the connections ought to exist under the dash.

U can buy a kit from many sources....check like Auto Zone or something, maybe off ebay?? I got mine off the 'net, but forget the source....I put it on my stripped out Dodge 3/4 ton van....all the locks worked off the Driver's door, I never bothered to use the remote....

it's a EASY wiring job, and for a work truck, it not like you going to be super picky about appearance inside.....

MY vans were ALL ex window vans with seats in them, the reason was that with many parks and shit restricted roads...in the DC region.....they do not allow TRUCKS on and so my vans were all tagged as passenger vehicles....
if it was a steel sided pervy van, it would be tagged as a truck, and not able to use a fair percentage of roads....so I would gut/scrap all the interior crap, maybe keep the seats for a while....leave the two buckets up front....

Doubtful the wiring will be there, but also doubt it'll be expensive. Probably the mounting area is prepped, but no wire.

:iagree: it'll be a very easy install. We installed a set in my friends f150, maybe took an hour or so and most of that was figuring out hoe to remove the door panels.

Did you have to install the wiring? Or was it already there?

Why? An online kit with the remote costs $150.

I've customized the hell out of this sucker. I'd have to do the same to the next van. Plus, the next one might not have features I need, so I'd gain some options while losing others.

pass. :rubbish:

Yes we ran our own wiring and used an entirely aftermarket alarm <viper>, door lock kit, should come with all the wiring necessary.
