After three cups of coffee provoked last night's slumbering dinner, I had an HID in the men's room.

Yeah, they are dual beam.

They have a fog light kit too, and also one for the back up lights. Those may come later.

Will they work with the DRL unit programmed?

I hope you are changing the housing to a projector type and not being one of those pricks who blind other drivers. :skep:

You need the cutoff in the housing for the light to be properly aimed. :yesnod:

F150 doesn't have DRL's.

I changed the housing, and had to have it made.

most likely they didn't do a HID retrofit and were just retards and poped in some HID Bulbs....

Also worth noting that a 4-seat light plane crashed in a Newfoundland cemetery this morning. Rescue crews have so far recovered 847 bodies.

I believe all Hids are the same brightness, the difference in the rating is the color, 5000k beinig pure white, 8000k being blue, and 12000k being purple.

"Bright" as in I can see better. The higher the number the more the color, the more the color the worse the vision.

Exactly, I see what you meant by bright with the color, I am thinking of switching to 5000k from my 6000k, I love my HIDs though

Not precisely. 4,300K is literally brighter as in more light output. However, human vision is designed for sunlight on a sunny day, which is 6,000K. So the color temperature of 6,000K is more appropriate, but 4,300K really does kick out more light because the bulbs are more efficient at that color temperature.

F150 doesn't have DRL's.

They do in Canada, don't they? I thought you could just do a reprogram the option on the computer as the hardware was present on all trucks:confused5:

I believe Ford uses a modulation technique because they use the actual low-beams for the DRL's. Don't know how this would work with HID's...

Where did you get the housings?

I can't remember the name of the company who made these.
I have a receipt, but it's still in a box somewhere from when I moved a few months ago.

The set came complete, with housing, lens, projector housing and bulb, high beam, and led's. I just had to plug it in basically and do a little soldering.

Still dangerous to other drivers on the road. There is a reason that they require a cut off for the light angle.
