Man who allegedly beat parents with hammer is arrested

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police are no longer looking for the son of a couple allegedly beaten early Monday morning.
Baton Rouge police said Jordan Ray Smith, 28, was arrested just before 6 p.m. Monday.
Police said he allegedly beat his parents with a hammer at their home on Parkciel Road. Police said Smith has a drug problem and became upset with his parents for some unknown reason prior to the beating.
Smith was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with 2 counts of Aggravated 2nd Degree Battery, Cruelty to the Infirm, Cultivation of Marijuana.
