A friend of mine has a kid by her ex husband that went full blown peter puffer after they divorced.

So question could be, was he gay when he made the baby? or did he just get that way after going through divorce?

He was already gay and hiding it. Divorce doesn't make you gay, but being gay can lead to divorce.
