See avatar. :) He's a very sweet black lab mix, but he needs a large area and another big dog to run with. When I first took him in as a stray (he wandered into my yard), I was single and lived on 2 acres. He had plenty of room to run. Since then I have married, and we moved into her house (normal lot size in town). We've tried to make it work, but since he doesn't have room/another dog to run with, he hasn't been nearly as happy. It's not fair to him, to keep him in a such a small area now. He stays inside with us, but would rather be running with other dogs, chasing coyotes, etc.

Was hoping y'all might know someone that could provide that for him. I am going to try other avenues as well including local entities, but I don't want him ending up in a shelter and getting euthanized. Would try craigslist but there are already a TON of dogs on there.

It's not all rainbows and butterflies:) He does get crazy about water (probably because he was a stray), NOT mean or AGGRESSIVE just crazy. You could have a steak in one hand, and a bowl of water in the other and he would choose water 100% of the time. We think it's because he was a stray, he had to store it when he could find it. Also, he has a pee issue. He pees a LOT. Easily expels 2x what he intakes. Had him checked out by the local vet, they couldn't find anything wrong. So, we limit his water so he doesn't pee everywhere but he still has an accident in his crate overnight. But he is a sweet dog, with a GREAT temperament. Has shown ZERO aggression, even around kids.

PS, we're in Oklahoma. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

looks like a sweet dog, we have one doggie, who loves roaming our 15 acres, but i think one is our present limit.

How is that possible? :confused5:

Cute dog! Good luck finding him a home.

Assuming he's healthy, his need to urinate frequently probably comes from the fact that he's still a puppy. He should grow out of that.

Not still a 'puppy' though. When we took him in, vets guessed he was 6-8 months. I've had him about 18 months. So, he's at least 2+, just has a small frame.

And no idea how/why it's possible. :wtf:

He really is a sweet dog. He loves people and has been good with kids of all ages. He's somewhat oblivious to babies, but in a "duh" kind of way, not mean at all. Unfortunately, with baby on the way, this could be an issue. He loves the lake, swimming, and running with other dogs. Unfortunately, we have 2 bulldogs who can't run with him at the pace he needs. He isn't happy as an inside dog and he isn't happy outside without the bulldogs so we are at a loss. We've tried walking him, playing with him outside, etc. and he really needs more than that or what another outside dog can provide. He is a huge snuggle bug and would like to sit in laps, if allowed, and will cuddle up to other animals. We just can't provide the environment he needs and it's time to look at other options.

SCOOBY!!! I just love this dog!

I wish I lived closer, and could afford a fence on my 1 acre lot.
I'd take him in a second if the stars were aligned right. :sadangel:

I sure hope someone takes that beautiful boy.

I'm trying to get my daughter and her SO to get him, they have a lab mix that could be his twin sister that is fading fast and another dog that is the pup of the older lab that is a great dog.
Wendell and her pup Honey would get along great, Honey is a sweet dog and very loving and well trained. Lucy the mom is in bad shape and I am afraid that she's going to have to be euthanized, she has epilepsy very, very badly and the medication that have to give her to overcome the siezures has turnned into almost a zombie. Honey needs an active dog her own age to play with and run with. :yesnod:

It must be the whole collar thing, but I just think he looks like a Scooby. It wasn't meant as a match of breed. :D
