I hate them I hate them I hate them. I would rather hit a 1 or 2 iron than one of these damn things. The problem is that no one makes the long irons anymore that I can find. My old set of lynx Black Cats had a 1 & 2 iron but I got rid of them a few years back. My new set of Taylor made Burner plus only goes down to a 4 iron. I bought a 2 & 4 rescue Hybrid but I can’t hit them worth a crap.

I bought a set of used Ping Eye 2's off of Ebay. I'm sure you can find what you need there.

1 & 2 irons are difficult to find because they're considered beginners clubs.

"Beginners" meaning... your T shot (with a wood) isn't worth a craap.

no serious golfer would be caught-dead with a 1 or 2 iron in their bag :leaving:

My tee shot is't the problem I have never been able to hit a fareway wood worth a shit. I was hopping that the Hybrid would correct that and at the driving range I can hit them off the turf. I just can't seem to get it right on the course. :ack:

I'm starting lessons next week...What are the chances you could meet with one of the instructors at the range to see if they can identify your issue?

I hope you're not serious. If you find a person with a 1 iron in their bag, you better not ever bet them.

Arguably the best iron that's ever been made.

I have another lesson next week and I'm probably going to have Justin work on this with me. He has helped me tremendously with my short game in the past few months. I'm constantly shooting in the low 40's now.

Number of hybrid clubs currently in my bag: ZERO :D

I can hit them, but prefer a real 3-iron/4-iron. Next club up is 5-wood. Love my 5-wood. I can choke up the 5-wood and hit it like a hybrid too.

My set of Mizuno MP-62 blades came with 3 through PW and they are just too darn pretty to pull one out and stick one of my hybrids in. :D I used my 3-iron several times yesterday, and it's great when it's windy.

The only issue I have currently is that I have a 60 degree and 54 degree wedge, and then down to PW. I hit the 54 degree wedge right at 100 yards. The PW I hit up to 130. Problem is when I need to hit 110 or so I'm between clubs and have to choke the PW and I typically screw this shot up (other-thinking usually). The PW is probably a 48 degree club so I guess I need to back to 56 and 52 degree wedges (I have these) but then I don't have a precise 100 yard club. Oh, and I have to pull out some other club. Sigh. I used to leave the 60 out but have come to rely on it for certain shots and like it a lot, especially out of the sand.

No kidding. Also if you look in a guy's bag and all his wedges have a perfect wear area right in the sweet spot of the club, beware. :D

Drop the 3 iron and pick up a A-Wedge
