NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) Medical personnel at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center contacted police after a female victim came to the hospital after having liposuction performed in a North Myrtle Beach condo.
According to an incident report from the North Myrtle Beach Police Department, an unnamed, 19-year-old female was brought to GSRMC Friday evening in poor condition. The woman was vomiting, bleeding, and complained of being dizzy.
After noticing approximately 10 different cuts on the woman's body, it was discovered by the medical staff that the female had undergone liposuction on her stomach, arms, and legs at a condo in the Ashley Park Apartments on David St. in North Myrtle Beach.
The victim explained to police that she had been picked up by two suspects Thursday evening while at the Myrtle Beach Mall, after making contact with them on the Internet. The suspects took the female to Ashley Park Apartments where she paid $1,500 to a woman who identified herself as a doctor who would perform liposuction. The victim states the "doctor" then gave her several pills, causing her to become unconscious.
The suspects, identified as Adriana Sofia Chica Neibles, 41, Miguel Andres Trujillo Orozco, 31, both of Bogota, Colombia, and 54-year-old Nubia Trujillo Rojas, were transporting the victim home when she became conscious some time later. The female's mother took her to the hospital Friday evening after she became sick and continued to bleed.
When officers visited the hospital to speak to the victim, she stated she was supposed to pay the suspects another $1,500 on Saturday and was concerned because another female was supposed to have the same procedure done in the condo after her. The female added that she heard the suspects talking of leaving the country on Monday, but only after performing several more surgical procedures.
The victim went on to explain that she had decided to have the liposuction procedure done about a week prior to the incident, and had contacted one of the suspects, Adriana Neibles, online. Neibles explained to the victim she would perform the procedure in North Myrtle Beach. The victim told police the surgical procedure was done in the back room of the condo after she met two of the suspects at the local mall.
A doctor with GSRMC told police he believed the procedure may have been conducted with a scalpel and some type of suction device.
The victim's health did not allow her to write a statement for law enforcement at the time they visited her in the hospital. She did, however, note that the second suspect, Nubia Trujillo Rojas, was identified as Neibles' assistant.
A search warrant was issued and served at an apartment at 1100 David St. where the three suspects were arrested and charged with assault and battery – high and aggravated in nature, practice of medicine without a license, and accessory before the fact – felony. The trio is behind bars at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center Wednesday morning.
The victim's current condition was not immediately known.
