New iPhone in September
The next version of Apple's iPhone will arrive in September and sport a faster, A5 processor and better camera, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday.

The report, citing two sources familiar with the matter, also reported that Apple pushed the release back to fall in order to coincide with the launch of the iOS 5 operating system.

Bloomberg also said that both that Apple is working on a higher-resolution version of the iPad, and that a smaller iPhone is in the works for developing countries.

Nokia introduces the Meego and NFC-Enabled N9 smartphone
At the ongoing Nokia Connection event being held in Singapore, Nokia has just launched its latest smartphone offering - the all powerful, Meego-based Nokia N9 smartphone. At first look, one thing that you’ll immediately noticed about this smartphone is that it sports a pure-touch interface. According to Nokia, the N9 focuses on important things that users do most namely, apps, get notifications and switch between different activities. With those key features from some other advanced functionalities, Nokia is ready to rock the smartphone world again with the N9. But can it really? Here are the key features and specs of the Nokia N9.

First, as mentioned is the all-touch, unibody design that will remind you of the iPhone, except of course for the N9, unique shape. The Nokia N9 will be fully-controlled by a swipe of the finger. Its interface is said to be very intuitive. The Nokia N9 has a large 3.9-inch curved glass AMOLED display utilizing an innovative laminated display technology. The phone’s body is made of polycarbonate material with superior antenna performance which according to Nokia means better reception, better voice quality and of course less dropped calls.

The Nokia N9 also features three home view screens which are assigned in carousel. You’ll get a home view screen for apps, events, and open applications which lets you switch between all open apps. This is of course similar to having the multitasking functionality which according to Nokia again is better than what the competition is offering. Other features of the Nokia N9 include - an 8MP camera with auto focus, Carl Zeiss Optics, dual LED flash and super wide 28mm lens. This camera is also capable of capturing HD video. The phone also has a browser and comes preloaded with the latest maps with voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation.

Finally, before we forget, the Nokia N7 is also NFC-enabled. This will enable you to pair the phone with NFC-enabled accessories as well as share contents or business cards easily.

I would hope that Apple corrected the antenna issue on this new version of the iPhone. I imagine it will be designed with the antenna on the inside of the phone like it was in previous versions.

I can also see how they missed it in their beta testing of the iPhone 4. If you are in an area with a strong signal, you don't drop any bars (this has been the case for me in Jacksonville). Either that or the testers were using a case which keeps your fingers from making contact with the two antennas.

I think the one Gizmodo got ahold of was in a case designed to look like a 3GS so in the wild it wouldn't draw attention.

I'm holding out for my upgrade for the new one.

:iagree:

This next round will be my decision point on sticking with iOS or moving to Android.

If I stick with iOS I will likely move up to the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 from my iPhone 4 and iPad...

Just waiting to see how everything compares when the next round comes out.
