Wrong, they are the cheapest & hard to copy thing you can do to customize your ride.

Legally as there are 50 states the max ever is 50 possible. Do to different states requirements (amount of characters & customs) they are much less possibles in actuality. The odds are great unless you have a common custom plate ( Ex 93 Vette, Fastvet) and there are cars from many states you will never see its match!

Go to a real large car show (Carlisle as a example) you will find a very high percentage of Vettes there have custom plates. Many times at Carlisle I have seen people walking around and filming still or taking video shots of cars with special plates!
Go to any kind of car show and you will see plenty of interesting plates on all sorts of rides.

I actually got the idea from my initials (BAD) and the gf's (RAC). Added the "R" and I got BADRACR.

why give the state anymore money to register your car than necessary?

personally, I think plates should have been eliminated decades ago, in place should be a sticker on the windshield or bumper.

metal plates made sense when cars were mostly steel, and resources & labor was cheap and abundant...and there were not nearly as many vehicles on the road.

now that cars are a high percentage of plastic....why the metal plate?

not only do you need to buy the metal plate...now, you have to buy a sticker for the metal plate each year.

fu@kin government hosing us again.

there is simply ZERO reason for a metal plate...and the law enforcement argument is lame...

as is the camera at intersections...just another money making scheme for the government.

My mom's been hit twice while stopped at a light in the last 14 months. Both times the pos backed up and ran. Neither was caught. The first backed to the next street behind them, then turned and ran. The last one backed up and went around. A witness got the tag number, but it wasn't registered to the car involved.
She's 68 and has been driving for almost fifty years. This was the first times it happened to her.

just because you don't agree with me, doesn't make me a bigot (as you posted in my safety net thread) and, I don't talk down to people...if you feel this way, maybe you are thin skinned and should stay away from opinionated threads.
