While I don't have a condo to offer, I have plenty of room in my house about 45 minutes to that center. I'm in Missouri City...I have a whole upstairs; 3 bedrooms, a game room, and a bath, I never use. You're more than welcome to stay.

Oh wow, I had no idea. I absolutely love his space photography.
A friend of mine was told he had this same thing and even the doctors were amazed when the pathology came back and said it was a cyst! It had started to "butterfly" (not sure what that is) but they were 99.99999% sure of their diagnosis. There were so many people praying for him that I'm 100% convinced I witnessed a miracle.
Anyway, there are some truly great people here. I wish I had something to offer, but I do have my prayers.
Can we make this thread a sticky so it stays where everybody can see it?

I was going to offer a room at my place. The Oyealiz suite is occupied, but I've got 2 other bedrooms that are available when we don't have guests. Stangkiller - your place is about 15 to 20 minutes closer.

We do have an empty guest room right now and I am off for the summer so if he needed to be tended to I could do it. The only catch is that you have to like big dogs who live in the house. Oh, and we have kids, but they're good kids.
If Aledo TX would be a convenient distance to Katy, shoot me a pm! You could also talk to my friend who went through this with happy results.

I'm sure that Cajundude could make the Aledo - Katy run in under 12 parsecs, but that's going to be a bit too far for normal people.
If he's going to be at the med center, I think Stangkiller's place or maybe Tink's place would be his best bets.

No worries Chris!! That's fairly close to Memorial City Mall and tons of clinics....I went to an Opthamologist in that immediate vicinity when I was getting optical migranes.
I'm curious why they would want to buy a cheap used car rather than a rental...surely you can get a monthly rental for less than the cost of a cheap (and possibly trouble prone) beater.

He told me he should hit Central Texas some time on Sunday and was going to give me a call. I don't have his details though, just PM on CF. I offered he may be able to stay with us for at least part of his trip (in Katy), but I thought we were a couple of minutes from the clinic, now it appears we are about 15 minutes away.

Should I check with my banker at Chase and see if I can get an account set up to help him out? If people want to help they can make a donation directly to his bank account.
I am wondering if It would be worth the time to set up a non profit for events like this. It could be a 501 c3 just like the corvette museum. It should only cost a couple of boones to get the paperwork filed with the state and then we would have a central location to help others out. Texas is pretty good about thinks like this.
If anyone has any ideas let me know, we would however need to have a board of Directors to make it legit. Anyone who contributed could have a vote.

He should land at Bush around 5:30pm today. Another amazing forum member has been able to provide him a place here in Houston. He said he would be in touch and I told him we will all help him out as needed.
Maybe we can have a dinner at someone's house for he and his wife during their stay. He wasn't exactly sure where in Houston the place is, but I told him to let us know.

Hey guys, I just spoke with Paul's wife, Lorraine. They made it in just fine yesterday. The place they are staying currently is near Kirby/59S, but they may not be staying there the whole time. Also, they went ahead and rented a car, but I want to get them a ride so they don't have to incur the additional costs. If anyone wants their cell #'s just PM me and I can pass it along. She said they are good on food for now, but I certainly want to make sure we can help them out so they don't have to spend an extra dime.
I hope you get in to see the Dr. soon Paul...we're all thinking of you man! :)
Dave
Here's a post from Paul this evening over at CF :
As lots here in off topic know, I made a nationwide search for a cure for my specfic problem... the one thing nobody ever expects to hear in their lifetime: brain cancer... specifically a very fast- growing cancerous tumor called a Glioblastoma multiforme grade IV.
After many weeks of prayer on this, my wife and I settled on a doctor/clinic in the city of Houston whose track record on this type of problem has been nothing short of remarkable especially when compared to standard medicine's treatment of the same. When I posted here on this forum for help in Houston my wife & I were incredibly amazed at the wonderful outpouring of support and love from folks we had never met in person before. Not only were we given a place to stay at no charge but from all I can tell, our choice of cars to use while we are here! All I gotta say is Houston folks ROCK! We aren't sure how long we will be in Houston, but it doesn't seem to matter. I believe all our needs are going to be met while we are here, thanks in great part to fellow forum members who treat us an unselfishly as if we were their own family!
Tomorrow is day 3 in town, and I should be getting my 1st appointment with the doctor at this clinic very, very soon. We have already submitted my medical records but are still waiting for the biopsy pathology to be sent from our current medical provider so we can have the actual appt. The purpose of this message is not to bore you with details but just to thank all of you who have offered such incredible help, love and support.
THANK ALL OF YOU!!!

If anyone has any ideas how we can make Paul and Lorriane more comfortable, please post up ideas, as Paul needs all the help he can get. It doe not have to be a major thing, just any ideas to make his life more comfortable while living away from home.
Thanks.

As many of you know, Paul is in the fight of his life. He has been diagnosed with a Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme which is the MOST aggressive form of brain tumor. The "standard" treatment is radiation and chemotherapy which should shrink the tumor, but it also ruins your immune system so you are less able to fight off infection.
There is alternative treatment (antineoplaston therapy) that has proven very effective at not only reducing these types of tumors but also eliminating them. The problem is that this is part of a clinical trial that the FDA has control over. Paul needs an exception to be granted by the FDA to participate in this trial because he did not do a full course of radiation and chemo. Here is where we need your help!
The Burzynski clinic in Houston where Paul is being treated will submit paperwork to the FDA for the exception but they say this has a higher chance of being approved by the FDA with intervention from Senators & Congressmen.
We are asking as many people as possible on Monday to call, text or email their Senators & Congressmen (use this link to find them by your zip code: www.cspan.org/congressdirectory/ (http://www.cspan.org/congressdirectory/)) and ask that an exception be given for Paul Brustas to be part of the antineoplaston clinical trial. You could help save his life!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

Dear Sir/Madame
A good friend is dying. The cause; Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme.
His name is Paul Brustas.
He and his wife are presently in Houston following a long and arduous trip from San Diego where they reside.
They have come to Houston for treatments of which the "standard" for his condition is radiation and chemotherapy which should shrink the tumor, but it also ruins your immune system so you are less able to fight off infection.
However, there is a more beneficial treatment (antineoplaston therapy) to which would benefit Paul, but the FDA has control of it.
To overcome the hurdle of the FDA bureaucratic approval of this treatment for Paul, I implore you to intervene with the FDA and allow the antineoplaston therapy to be made available to Paul.
There are many individuals that are friends with Paul, and solicit your assistance. A few WEB site threads are available for your to see the interest in this matter:

I sent messages to my U.S. Senators, BUT....

Finally! Good news:
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday (Thursday) we got confirmation that I was indeed approved to get treated at the Burzynski clinic. After the shock wore off, it's hard to describe the wave of relief my wife and I felt. It was such a long time coming, starting with the first time we were exposed to Burzynski's website and learned of his successes in treating the glioblastoma cancer type which I have. That of course, was back at home in San Diego and we have been away so long that it seems like a lifetime ago. We have been in Houston Texas for over 10 days, Midsummer, under the most extreme emotional circumstances you can possibly imagine. God has provided for us however, at every step of the way by bringing people into our lives that have helped us so much, and in so many ways it's amazing. Mind you many of these people were folks that we did not even know a few months ago!
It’s not possible to measure or explain our gratitude for everybody that contacted Congress for us nationwide. We knew we were on the right track when these officials started writing back to us requesting the specific name of the drug in the trial that I was trying to join. Once we got the specifics sent out via e-mail to these elected officials, the information was forwarded to the FDA on my behalf and I was approved! The treatment that was approved was Antineoplaston therapy, not the combined therapy which included gene targeted medicines. That was my first choice as Dr. Burzynski said he believed it to be my best chance.
I cannot change the FDA's decision however, and I'm very thankful that I was allowed to become part of the Antineoplaston therapy. Immediately the clinic referred me to a local Doctor to have a port installed in my chest to accept the medicines. This sounds scary, and it most certainly was not so comfortable- but what a really entails though is nothing more than them attaching a tube to a vein. This gives the Dr. a place to admit large quantities of medicines into my system without continuously tapping veins in my arm or hand.
So, to recap: approved, plumbed for action, space and ready to go. It is now 8 AM and my first therapy begins at 930 this morning. It has been a long time coming and I owe incredible thanks to friends, family and readers of this blog who have helped us every step of the way.

I have avoided making daily entries onto the Corvette forum about my cancer treatments since they started, because I'm not sure it's actually appropriate. There are many people on this forum however, that were very instrumental in enabling me to get treatment at all!! For various reasons, quite a few actually, I owe many many thanks to people on this forum and I figured I would let you know how things are going.
My cancer treatment started on the first of the month; in one more hour I go in to the clinic for my fourth treatment. After 72 hours of treatment so far, I have very very little negative to report. You might remember I am here for a clinical trial with a new drug/ therapy entitled Antineoplaston therapy. I am hooked up to a pump 24 hours a day which infuses this new medicine directly into my body every four hours. This is just a small device which everybody has seen before, and it does not keep me from being mobile. I am not in-hospital, nor am I staying at the clinic. (http://www.burzynskiclinic.com/) I go there every single day for three or four hours so they can run blood tests and evaluate how my system is tolerating the drugs. After that, the wife and I are free to do whatever we want in hundred-degree Houston…
Obviously it is way too early to see how efficient this treatment will be in eliminating my brain tumor. I do know however that daily prayer certainly is not hurting!! After just a couple of days on this new medicine one of my key problems is already starting to dissipate - that being dizziness. Walking with a cane is hard enough, and I have fallen several times in the past six months since I'm sick and landed in the hospital too. the clinic has changed the dosage of some of the key medicines by healthcare provider in San Diego already had me on, and I had been on the new medicines for a few days. My dizziness problem is almost completely gone already!!
If you want to call them side effects, I can report the negative side of this type of treatment: I think it will only take one line. When the pump infuses the medicine into my body, I get drowsy for about 45 min. That Is It! I have none of the side effects of chemotherapy, in my brain is not being wasted/ruined by daily exposure to radiation. Of course we pray that this new type of therapy would cure my tumor and my cancer as it has many other patients. And just think: I could be also helping tens of thousands of other people down the road if/when this type of therapy gets approved by the government agencies such as the FDA.
Once again I thank all my friends here on this forum for enabling myself and my wife in so many ways once we landed in Houston. Should you be curious enough, I am still updating my blog (http://brustas.blogspot.com/) a very regular basis as I think is becoming a daily journal for me… Even though I don't update daily!:toetap:

Hi all, it's been a while since I heard from Paul so I emailed his wife to see how he was doing. Paul suffered a hemorrhagic stroke about a month ago. He is having some shot term memory loss from it. He woke up one day and didn't realize that he was sick, his wife had to tell him all over again :sadangel: There is some positive news out of this though, his last MRI in late October showed a 33% decrease in tumor size which is phenomenal for this type of cancer. I truly hope he can get ahead of these setbacks and beat this thing.
