that you can refuse delivery of certified mail?

I found that out yesterday, when one of our ex-renters refused his mail.

I wonder what he thinks that will accomplish?

It wasn't court docs of any kind.

It was a letter and pictures explaining why he wasn't get his security deposit back, as well as a reciept for rent collected which also showed he missed a month and still owes us.
We *were* just going to let it go an not pursue it anymore, not so sure now.
He was actually a really good renter, just left the place in dissarry and tried, unsuccessfully, to hide damage.

besides which, in Indiana, refused certified mail is still considered delivered, since the recipient had to look at it and say no. (we look it up)
if it was sent back because the 15-day non-delivery time expired, that's another story.

I knew that.

You can refuse it, and first you have the right to ask the postman who sent it AND THEY MUST TELL YOU. You do not like the answer REFUSE IT!
