I looked at him and he was serious.
Rear bumper cover, left rear fender (fiber glass is busted) and I don't know what else.
I don't have to involve my insurance do I? I just want my car fixed.
details: He was backing out of a parking spot and forgot I was back there.
I want to go home, now. :leaving:
:sadangel::sadangel:
if he ponies up the $$ to fix it (at a place of your choosing), then no need to involve the insurance company.
need some barnbux? we kind of robbed the bank last week. :leaving:
As long as he's going to own up to it then no reason for your insurance company to be involved.

Douglas speaks the truth! Hopefully the insurance company doesn't have to get involved.
Sorry to hear that it happened,Bart. :(

If things go south and you have to involve insurance-Just don't wait too long or insurance will question why you didn't report it.

That sucks - hope they make you whole.

The guy that did it was super cool. He is going to call the insurance company in just a few minutes. He was leaving to go to a meeting. I told him to go ahead and we'll call them when he gets done. he was going to skip the meeting, but it's an important meeting.
I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I guess we need a police report?
I'm going to take some pictures and vomit. BRB.
If it was on private property a lot of agencies won't do reports anymore, least not around here.

There should be no need for a police report if you trust him, that he's going to tell his Ins the truth <which sounds like he is> i don't think you're going to have a problem, and I wouldn't notify police.

Interesting must be something in the water.... my DD was backed into yesterday. FYI: If you are sitting in a crosswalk and put your car into reverse to let the pedestrians by, make sure you look behind you before backing up. :slap:
Hope you get everything straightened out with minimal problems. Might I suggest a heavy dose of beer to help?

Good advice.
Please accept my apologies for  at your misfortune.
To the OP: Sounds like the guy will make it right. I wonder if his insurance company will want to contact yours. :confused5: I have no idea how that works.

I have no professional experience with insurance companies -- but i've been hit in an accident before. His insurance company will send out an adjuster, or ask you to take it to their recommended shop, or something in between, if you don't like their preferred shop, find and use your own -- but you may have to get your insurance involved if they protest too much.
As long as he's going to own up to it then no reason for your insurance company to be involved.

This is the best idea I have heard all day.
He called his insurance company while I was sitting in his office. The adjuster will contact me within 2 business days.

Dayum, man! I'm so sorry about your whiplash, lacerations, bruises, lost income, and loss of consortium. Although you may never fully recover physically, I can help you get the money you deserve! I've gotten $90M in similar cases! Although I can't promise you $90M (something about "ethics"), I'll pursue your case like a rabid dog attacking a child!
Remember: Our first consultation is free...and includes a complimentary neck brace! Call me now! My law firm's motto: "We sue suddenly!"

A mere technicality! Don't you worry about it, because the witnesses will prove you were horribly injured. Now, you get some rest, and follow my...er, your... doctor's orders!

I have one on my phone (get of my case. Utah was busy):D
I know how I feel when some one says "boobie" and doesn't post pics, so I just walked outside and took these with my phone. Neither one shows the broken fender very well.

Happened to me about three years ago. F&I manager pulled out of his parking spot and tagged the Marquis. I got a scuffed bumper cover and a broken side marker lens, he got a five-foot long crease down the side of his Silverado. At first he didn't want to have the insurance involved (I was OK with that). That was before the $3500 shop estimate to fix the pickup.
