Driving up and trailering back... assuming the car is as represented and checks out. I was able to speak to the original selling dealer and the previous owner (who's had over 15 corvettes). Carfax and Autocheck are all clean... looks to be mint and stock. Plus it's one of 3 red/tan/tan 2001+ 6-speeds I could find in the entire country.

The car is a 2003 50th Anniversary with 43k miles and all options other than having the base suspension. Driving up to stay w/ WKMCD in the DC area tonight then up to PA on Saturday AM.

The car will get basic intake/exhaust and some minor cosmetic stuff. The cheesey stickers will be the first thing to go.

Eventually when a buddy (he knows who he is!) wants to part with his Fikse FM5s in Z06 sizes I plan on snagging those.... other than that I'm keeping this one on the mild side.

Looks like a nice car, but I am a little confused (although it doesn't take much). You said it is one of 3 red/tan/tan 2001 +6 speed. Then you state it is a 2003 anniversary. What year is it?

I think he was saying it was one of 3 red/tan/tan 2001+(as in 01 or newer) 6 speeds and it is an 03.

I'm no expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Don't tell my wife, she thinks I was working late.:leaving:

Munch is correct... I only wanted a 2001-2004 torch red/tan/tan mn6 vert. There are only 3 that I could find anywhere. One is in IL, it's a 2001 w/ 45k on it and a few mods and a big stereo, guy wants too much money for it. The other is at buyavette.net in Atlanta, it's a 2003 identical to this one but with 54k and the F55 suspension.

They rejected 2 of my offers and admitted they had too much in the car... the owners would rather hold the car until srping/summer in hopes of finding a buyer to at least break even.

That's still the plan. The Z06 goes to my painter monday so he can paint the front bumper, hood, and roof panel to match the rest of the car. He has the panit on file from when he painted the whole thing. That car will be sold and I'll be even steven w/o the desire to spend a bajillion bucks on a car anymore.

All 03's were 50th anniversary year. Then they made the Anniversary Editions. Only those were the special edition color. But if you look at any 03, you will see the 50th badge on them.

Car looks great. The red/tan/tan is a sweet combo.

Didn't say I wasn't modding at all... I have Corsa Extremes and a Halltech sitting at home for it. Going to put in a C6Z shifter and eventually get wheels.

Crashing in Richmond for the night... too tired to make it home as the energy drinks are wearing off.

The car is in fantastic condition... the underside and frame looks new, it's never seen a PA winter or a winter of any kind or even much bad weather at all. The interior is mint and the top is perfect. The only bad thing is I figured out that the rear bumper had been replaced and painted. Paint match and quality is perfect, but when you open the trunk you can see the paint peeling where the screws used to hold it on upset the paint. Factory paint doesn't do this, whoever painted it neglected to properly prep this area. Got the guy to knock $250 off of the price.

If you didn't have a history in insurance adjusting or you didn't work in a paint shop you'd never know... the seller had no clue and I'm sure the original owner paid cash for it, thus not showing on the carfax or autocheck.

Got back yesterday AM... all went well. Drive the car around yesterday evening in the rain and drove it to work today. Really liking it... will make a wonderful almost daily driver. Don't plan on driving it in truly horrid weather.

Got her registered this morning... went with VETE4B on a VA heritage plate (the one w/ the cardinal and dogwood). It should go w/ the red car nicely.
