Teen arrested for hiding 42-inch Samurai sword in his pants

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A student was arrested for bringing a concealed weapon to his high school in northeast Charlotte Monday morning.
The incident occurred at Garinger High School located at 1100 Eastway Drive.
Police told WBTV Education Reporter Dedrick Russell the weapon was a 42-inch Samurai sword.
Armano Lee Washington, 19, claimed he had an issue with another student last week, and decided to bring the weapon to school on Monday, police said.
Officials found out about the sword when Washington removed the weapon from his pants to show it to another student.
According to the Mecklenburg County Jail website, Washington has been charged with Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. He received a $1,500 secured bond.
