8-foot alligator captured, killed in Moncks Corner

MONCKS CORNER, SC - An 8-foot alligator was captured and killed after crossing a road near Carolina Nurseries in Moncks Corner Wednesday morning.

Ron Russell of Gator Getter Consultants says he was called out by the Moncks Corner Police Department after the gator crossed the road and got stuck in a fence.

Russell, the lone responder on the scene, said he tried to free the gator from the fence so that he could relocate him. After many unsuccessful attempts at freeing the animal, he said he was forced to put the reptile down.
