I need an all in one for my home office. It needs to be fast, and cost around 3 cents a page for a B&W print..Fast scanning and faxing is a must.....I have a Kodak all in one now, and the print quality sucks, and the scanning and faxing is adequate, but not fast.......Any suggestions ?
I personally bought a Xerox Workcentre 3210 and it's great. Fast and uses toner instead of ink that will dry up. Not sure of per page price though...but I paid $220 delivered for it. I use them at work as well with no complaints. Network printing is a snap as well as it has a print server built in.

That looks pretty good. How do you like the scanner, and fax machine aspects of it ?

Scanning is excellent. In fact...I had to make a copy of a BOS this morning and set them down on my desk and couldn't tell them apart. Had to hold them up so the light shown against them to see which one had the ink pen impression.
Haven't worked with the fax much, but the ones I've deployed at the office have not reported any issues at all (and they can be picky as heck).

HP has some nice all in ones. If you're doing a lot of scanning, get one with a feed tray.
I've got an HP6500 that works pretty good. I dumped my crappy Kodak after the second print head crapped out.
Haven't used the fax so I can't say how good it is. I just scan to pdf and email that instead.
This is a scan of a print and it did a good job.

Word of caution on the HP's....just because it says MFP don't assume it has print/fax/scan. I bought one and the darn thing didn't have a scan option. :( Read the description first! <doh!>

I was actually scoping out the HP Office Jet 6500A, All in One....That pic does look great....Show off !...:D....I generally do not fax either, so how do you like the scanner speed, and ink consumption ?

I work from home so most of my printing is business related black and white documents. I guess ink lasts about like any other ink jet printer. It actually seems to last longer than the Kodak did.
Scanning is pretty quick and you can either put your page (or print) on the glass or use the feeder. The feeder will combine multiple pages into one pdf.

I have an HP Officejet 6500. Less than a year old and I am looking to replace it. Functions great, but it is an ink hog. Seems like every month or 2, I am getting ink low messages. It is our home printer, I don't use it very often, the wife uses it to print stuff for her classroom mostly.

Hmmm....The 6500-A e All in One, supposedly copies for 2.8 cents per page..That is one of the lowest, per page costs, out there...Well, It'll be here on Friday....We shall see. I'll be using it mostly for copying business documents, scanning to pdf., and for very rare faxing..I'm replacing a Kodak 5500...Print quality sucks on that one, no matter how you set it up. Other than that, the other functions are fine.

Mine is not the "A", and it is a different color than the one in the link. Maybe they have revised the issue.

Here's my review :
The scanner scans a bit slowly, but does a very good job of it.
The printer is really crisp, and very good, and prints very fast.
The fax machine works just fine.
It's black , and I can already see dust on it...
Over all, I'm satisfied, for the price.
I have yet to be able to review the ink consumption.
