Duh. Guess why my headers won't seal.

I would have sworn my headers had square ports. They are oval. That's why the square port gaskets don't seal and keep blowing. With 10.5:1 compression, it just rips them up.

Sometimes I think old age is getting to me. New gaskets on the way. Now all I need is the gumption to remove the headers and replace. Stupid alternator mount. Stupid oil dipstick tube. Stupid tiny bolts. Stupid giant hands.

Sometimes you think you know something so well you get sloppy. In fact, I had a different set of headers before the rebuild and instead of looking at the headers, I looked at the old gaskets to get new ones. Unbelievable. :madcloud:

We don't have Gen 1 small blocks. Everybody drives hot Colorados with custom headers.
