Ersland didn't wake up that day with a plan to rob someone with a gun..and he was in his store (http://www.kfor.com/news/local/kfor-guilty-ersland-found-guilty-in-pharmacy-shooting-trial-20110526,0,4928477.story?track=rss&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+kfor%2FmwQa+%28KFOR+-+Local+News%29&utm_content=Google+Feedfetcher)

They say Ersland was justified when he shot Parker in the head and knocked him unconscious, but say he went too far when he shot the unconscious teen five more times.
Ooooo ... unconscious, then shot 5 more times.
Obviously he ran out of Bullets. :D
I'm cool with that ... :yesnod:

Gawd Damn it, what's wrong with Oklahoman juries? Son-of-bitch should of had the right to shoot the mother-fecker robbing his pharmacy, then cut off his fecking head and post it on a stake outside the store!
How in the hell did he happen to even be charged? That pisses me off about as bad as anything I've heard about lately. How and the hell can it be 1st degree murder? I though 1st degree requires you to have planned to shoot somebody?

They have video of him capping the dude. Two of them came in with a gun, he shot one, chased the other, then came back and shot the downed asshat 5 more times.
Little thief fecker should have included that possibility in his plan that morning.

The prosecutor probably planted a bunch of 96 year old Baptist chicks.

I've always had the mindset, "Fire, 'til the magazine is empty."
Sorry for the pharmacist.......feck the dead punk.

Should have reloaded and pumped a few shots into the Video Recorder. :yesnod:

Must be like FL. The first shot is self defense and anything after is premeditated. Makes it a bitch for military bubbas who've been taught to double tap since basic training.

As someone who's lived in Oklahoma all my life, I'm embarassed and ashamed of this verdict. What a completely gutless jury. 8 women, 4 men. The fact this case even went to trial is beyond ridiciulous.
What a complete f'king joke.

I hear ya.
The ME said the first shot did not result in an instant fatality. One could argue that the little darlin' flinched or something. Ersland couldn't be sure he was dead and no longer a threat.
Either way, it's a shame in my book.

Yeah... But he left after chasing a guy then came back and popped the piece of shit a few times. I'm all for self protection and shooting an assailant, but the dude did cross the line according to some law that's probably in effect.

You're right, he probably did.
All that says to me is that we have some F'd up laws enacted.

I can understand it being illegal to put the dude on the ground and coming back for more shots after leaving.
What I dont care for is a no double tap law. Not sure if OK has that. H ere in TX, I can shoot until the threat is gone, but I can't come back to finish the job. That I fully support. IMO, the pharmacist should have shot until the guy went down, then left and returned after a call to 911. I really think he acted a judge, jury, and executioner. Chasing the other dude is a whole other can of worms.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.
They planned it, he didn’t - rather he was reacting. Too bad he couldn’t do the same to the other and anyone else involved in the panning of the crime.
Maybe we’ll just have to agree to disagree…

Don't get me wrong, I fully support said douche leaving in a body bag. Allowing somebody to leave and come back for more will simply embolden more people to do the same and then innocents could be put in danger again.
I fully support self defense by any means, neutralize the target by any means necessary, and get out as soon as you can. Most people I read about being heroes are dead (except military and some police)

I would insist on an appeal with a more balanced jury for sure! Stupid, it reminds me of the BS up here in Canada where he would be serving life for sure, and many gun offenses as well.
I hope every time one of these a-holes gets tapped, others like him will read or hear about it, and rethink dying for a few bucks. That's if they even CAN read! :beat:
